Sharing our story

With a Dufferin County Community Grant for $500, Orangeville Community Band was able to continue its extraordinary work in offering band concerts to the elderly and school-age children at no cost. The elderly at Lord Dufferin Centre Retirement Residence thoroughly enjoyed a concert on October 19, 2024. Residents made comments to band members including: “That was the best concert ever.” and “We hope you will come back soon.” The audience seemed enthusiastic throughout the concert. School children were equally enthusiastic as they learned about different band instruments and guessed which animal the music represented in one of the pieces of music. Likewise, they participated in a stampede with their feet as the band played the musical selection entitled, “Stampede.” Thank you, Dufferin County, for helping make these concerts happen. The grant helped us with costs related to publicity and rehearsals.
