National Volunteer Week is April 18-24, 2021

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is a time to celebrate, recognize and thank volunteers, and to create awareness for the important work that millions of people do across Canada!

The theme for National Volunteer Week 2021 is:

The Value of One. The Power of Many.

This theme reflects on the countless acts of kindness by millions of individuals AND the magic that happens when we work together towards a common purpose. This past year, we have seen people supporting family, friends, neighbours, and strangers, people striving for inclusion and the creation of a more just and equitable society.

Volunteers…We thank you for all that you do for our community!

You are valued.

Volunteer Dufferin would like to thank all the volunteers in Dufferin County and Headwaters who to help make our communities engaged, resilient and supportive. We are eternally grateful for all that you do. Canada’s 12.7 million volunteers are the glue that binds communities and a lifeline for many organizations and people. Without volunteers, where would we be?

Please take the opportunity to recognize all the people who contribute to the success of local organizations and our community. Here are some ways to celebrate National Volunteer Week:

  • Follow Volunteer Dufferin on social media. Throughout NVW you will see posts from our Leadership Council and staff about what this year’s theme means to them.
  • Look for Volunteer Dufferin postcards in the mail. We have sent thank you postcards to Volunteer Dufferin member organizations. They are asked to write a short message on each postcard and share them with their volunteers.
  • Visit Volunteer Canada for a list of ways to celebrate National Volunteer Week virtually.
