Sharing our story

PumpkinFest continues to grow, with more vendors, including local vendors, non-profit organizations serving our community, a ten year old entrepreneur and multicultural booths. There were expanded activities, including: games, our popular photo row, more inflatables, a train ride, and shows from local performers including a musician and dancers. It continues to be a multi-generational family day, welcoming visitors of all ages and backgrounds from Shelburne and beyond. It is conveniently located at a local park, with parking available, but with many locals choosing to walk or bike to the event. The vendors were able to promote their local crafts, treats, and other products, and the entertainers their many talents. Elsa visited and entertained the children with “Let it Go” and a singalong. And of course our food both was busy with hotdogs, popcorn, candy floss and other treats. In spite of a typical October day of changing weather, the rain held off (we even saw occasional sun) and we estimate that again over 700 members of the greater community attended the event. A family from Alliston let us know that they drove specifically to join us for the event. As Jeremy, a Friend of Rotary, put it, “The vibe reminds me of the Shelburne street fairs when I was a kid – what an awesome event!” Families left with a free pumpkin or two to remember a fun afternoon.
