$4,300
Sharing our grant story
With $4300 we were able to provide Culturally specific Mental Health and Wellness support to indidviduals in our community who were dealing with a variety of issues from loss (death), depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. We were able to provide culturally relevant content to youth and families in our community to help educate and empower them to see the possibiltities and opportunities for different career fields to explore. Included in this program is the ongoing mentorship of students in Dufferin County.
There was an urgent need for mental wealth and self care support for the community and so we were able to use the funding to provide mental health support to Dufferin County residents, some of whom were dealing with a recent loss, severe anxiety, depression and other mental health stressors. We were able to host a virtual session for individuals to receive professional support as well as guidance on how to take care of our individual wellness and wellbeing. Individuals not only walked away equipped with the tools and supports but they also had the opportunity to ask specific questions and receive feedback and support. Due to the confidentiality nature of the event we did not post videos. participants felt supported, heard and connected and wanted to have follow up sessions to continue the healing and learning process. We were able to provide educational programs to families and youth in the community with ongoing mentorship for students
