Call for Volunteers! Torchlight in our community

One of the many organizations supported by United Way and Trillium funding is Torchlight. Their program TeleCheck is on the move and looking for help. The Dufferin location is expanding its daily call-out/check in service to seniors in Dufferin – Orangeville, to reach out and serve an even broader community of our most vulnerable population, their family allies and the professionals who are involved in their care.

What exactly is Telecheck?

“We offer free, telephone-based listening, support, referral, seniors reassurance call-out and crisis assistance (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) by trained staff and volunteers. All calls are confidential. Unless requesting emergency services, you do not need to identify yourself or give any information which might identify your location. If you need to talk, we are here to listen whenever you need us. ”
