Empowering Communities Through Cricket: A Journey of Success with Your Support

At the heart of Shelburne, the cricket pitches at Shelburne Cricket Club witnessed an extraordinary transformation, thanks to the generous support of HCIA. With the grant, we embarked on a series of projects that not only elevated the cricket experience but also brought our community closer together.

Shelburne Samurais: Rising Warriors on the Field

The introduction of the Shelburne Samurais marked a pivotal moment in our club’s history. Competing in the finals and securing the runner-up position in 2023, the Samurais showcased exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship. This expansion not only strengthened our league but also inspired budding cricketers to aim for greatness.

Breaking Barriers: Women’s Cricket Takes Center Stage

Breaking stereotypes and fostering inclusivity, we proudly launched the Women’s Cricket Tournament. The battles between the Shelburne Valkyries and Shelburne Angels went beyond the boundaries of the field, creating bonds between mothers and daughters, friends, and newcomers. The tournament not only revived interest in women’s cricket but also became a source of mental fitness, fun, and camaraderie.

Coed Tyro Tournament: Nurturing Young Talent

Our commitment to youth development shone brightly through the Coed Tyro Tournament. Young cricketers, aged as little as 8, showcased their skills, captaining teams, and experiencing the highs and lows of the game. This initiative not only sparked interest but also provided a platform for skill development, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

Beyond Boundaries: Soccer Tournament Unites Communities

In a move beyond cricket, we organized a soccer tournament featuring three teams – Dynamites, Eagles, and Titans. The majority of Titans’ players hailed from our cricket house league, fostering bonds within our community. This initiative not only promoted fitness but also kindled interest among those unfamiliar with cricket, expanding the club’s reach.

Coaching and Umpiring Excellence: A Technological Leap Forward

Your support enabled us to invest in technology, broadcasting and recording all games live. This not only provided a richer experience for our members but also revolutionized our coaching and umpiring programs. By expanding our panel, developing skills, and offering live telecasts, we elevated the standard of coaching and umpiring in Shelburne.

Fundraising Success: Afternoon Tea Extravaganza

In addition to our on-field triumphs, the Shelburne Cricket Club successfully organized several fundraising events, with the Afternoon Tea standing out as a crowning achievement. Members of our community came dressed to the nines, with women donning their tea dresses and fascinators. Amidst an elegant atmosphere, participants enjoyed a delightful spread of tea and snacks while savoring the excitement of live cricket games. This event not only brought our community together but also proved to be a resounding success in supporting our ongoing initiatives.
