Allison Whitten Named Farm to School Program Coordinator
Headwaters Communities In Action and Headwaters Food and Farming Alliance would like to welcome Allison Whitten to the role of Farm to School Program Coordinator!
Allison is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and has ample experience working with children and youth in the community and school settings. She was previously a Local Project Manager for the Healthy Kids Community Challenge. She led in-school healthy eating and gardening workshops and has been a partner for food box programs in other regions.
Allison succeeds Adelle Barr-Klouman who has been the Farm to School Program Coordinator since 2018.
“On behalf of the Farm to School Team, HFFA and Headwaters Communities In Action, I thank Adelle for the amazing job she has done moving Farm to School forward during a period of transition. Working with Adelle has been a true pleasure. Her passion for local food and farming is evident and we know that this will not be good-bye. We look forward to seeing you back in any capacity, Adelle. There’s always a seat at the table for you.
Please join us in welcoming Allison Whitten to the team and know that she will hit the ground running with our Big Fresh Goal of seeing Farm to School activity in every Headwaters school by 2025! Despite the current disruption of life in general, it’s actually an exciting time for local food.”
