Headwaters Communities in Action Receives $76,700 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant for Local Food Programs

HCIA has received $76,700 from the OTF Resilient Communities Fund in support of the popular Headwaters Food and Farming Alliance, Farm to School Program.Ontario Trillium Foundation

The funding will assist the program to provide contactless food delivery, virtual and outdoor education, and fundraising alternatives that will benefit our communities.

“I am very pleased to see organizations in Dufferin-Caledon receive funding through the OTF Resilient Communities Fund,” said Sylvia Jones, MPP Dufferin-Caledon. “Many families and individuals rely on non profit organizations – for services, support, and as a way to meet each other at events and programming. In the face of the pandemic we have all had to adjust and change how we stay connected to each other and this funding will go a long way to reconnecting us all safely.”

“The OTF funding is critical as we adjust to the impacts of COVID-19 and improve our resilience to future waves,” said Jennifer Payne, Executive Director of Headwaters Communities In Action. “It will help us to adapt program delivery methods to accommodate remote/virtual learning and teacher-only facilitation, relocate food club operations to provide food delivery without access to schools and adapt fundraising plans, including exploring and accessing new financial resources and revenue prospects.”
