HCIA TRAILS: What a winter for skiing!

Family Day at Mono Nordic Ski Club 2014

Headwaters (and particularly Dufferin county) drivers will be none too happy to see the snow receding this spring. There were more snow days and road closures this year than most of us can recall. Buses cancelled again?? Happy kids indeed. As well the regions skiers enjoyed (and are still enjoying) the elongated season which may continue until the end of March. The Headwaters trails were a magnet for visitors and residents alike as reflected by Mono Nordic’s Family Day in Monora Park on February 22.

Mono Nordics Karen Morrison says on their site:

The event was a huge success.!
Families came out in record numbers to cross country ski and enjoy the beauty of the Park. We had 841 people sign in this year, which is a 30% increase over last year. This event is growing because of the spirit and dedication of all our volunteers. You are the heart of the club and its greatest asset. Those families who were surveyed mentioned how much they appreciated our volunteers who helped get them equipment, helped them put on skis and gave them ski tips and guidance, and provided them with food. They felt welcome and had a wonderful experience.
